Mich and I got the official pictures from our photographers from Imagine Nation this weekend. I was a bit shocked to find out that there were THOUSANDS of pictures to go through. It will definitely take us a few days to pick the shots that we want to upload and share with everyone. For starters I uploaded the Pre-Wedding Ceremony pictures on Facebook. Here are some of the pics on the album.
One of my character flaws that Mich doesn’t really like is how “burara” I am with stuff. I’ve lost several of the gifts she gave me in the past including a couple of rings and toys (yeah I suck). This may sound a bit juvenile but I think a big challenge for me is taking care of my wedding ring, haha! I’m not used to wearing rings and I have a habit of taking it off and putting it back on when I’m bored. A good friend of mine told me to just glue it to my finger using Mighty Bond, lol. Here’s a picture of our rings which I took this morning. I just placed them over a wooden cross which was given to us as a wedding gift.
If you see me playing around with my ring, I’m giving you permission to remind me to just keep it on so I don’t misplace it, hehe.
*looks around for Mighty Bond*
PS: We bought our wedding rings from Matus during a wedding fair. They give discounts for on-the-spot reservations.
Here’s the AVP which played during the start of our wedding reception. It’s a fun picture story slideshow which tells our love story. Pictures used were actually our prenup photos which were also taken by Imagine Nation’s Jayjay Lucas. The song is “Loving You is Easy” by Ben Rector. I edited the video using iMovie and Mich was the one who made the storyboard. Editing process took less than 20 minutes (epic win for Apple media software!).
To those wondering, yes, Mich did turn me down the first time around, lol. It pays to be persistent xD
After I posted THIS picture (click link for pic) on this blog, I got a few FB messages asking who the guy was in the picture. Might as well give him a formal introduction, haha! His name is Jie. I’ve known the guy for more than 5 years. I don’t know what his last name is (I think it’s Gamotin) and his real name is a secret. I met Jie through the game Ragnarok Online. He was actually one of my guildmates and he’s been a good friend ever since. Jie is a good example of how you can build lasting relationships that transcend the pixels of the virtual world. I have several other longstanding friends which came from Ragnarok that I cherish. I’ll write about them some other time.
One of the things that Mich and I quickly agreed on during the wedding planning was getting a photobooth. It’s fun for the guests and it’s a great souvenir for the event. Anyway, we only picked our supplier a week before the wedding because there were so many photobooths in the market to pick from. The one we picked was a definite winner. Easy to work with, affordable rates, and great quality of pictures. Very professional! Here are selected pics from our Photobooth by Artpose Photo.
A lot of Filipino wedding photographers charge an arm and a leg these days. When Mich and I were looking for our photographer, we wanted to get someone we could trust because other than the cost, we’re literally putting the burden of capturing this once-in-a-lifetime event in film on this person. One of the guys that first came to my mind was Jayjay Lucas from Imagine Nation. I’ve been seeing his work on Facebook and he was also my classmate in Grade School at the Ateneo. I also found out that he was also a brother in Christ which made the decision for me easier. It was easily one of the best decisions we’ve made with regards to suppliers for our wedding. Jayjay is a naturally gifted and talented artist with an eye for beautiful concept shots. His calm and friendly demeanor will also make you feel at ease with him. Here’s a preview of our wedding pictures that he took.
Jayjay also took our prenup pictures. Will post them soon.
To those who are engaged or couples who are thinking of getting engaged, we highly recommend Jayjay. This guy is a genius and you won’t get shortchanged at all. We’ll post more pics once we get the official shots sometime this week.
Mich and I were very particular with our Videographer. Capturing moments on film is literally a way to preserve and share special memories so we really wanted to get someone good. The problem is most “famous” videographers charge insane rates (over P120,000). Jayjay Lucas, our photographer, recommended Wang Videography and we decided to trust him on this. Epic win. Here’s our Same Day Edit (SDE) video by Wang Videography.
Very professional guys. I highly recommend them. Worth every peso we spent.
You capture a lot of “unique” moments during events, especially weddings. You’ll definitely find a lot of emotional experiences on film but this picture I’m about to share is just… well… no words can really describe it. Best way I can put it is to say that it’s an atrocity to humanity.
Mich and I got the chance of the lifetime this afternoon. As most of you know, I proposed to Mich with the song Falling Slowly by Kris Allen. When I found out that he was coming to the Philippines for a concert, I called the event organizer and immediately reserved tickets. However, watching the guy perform wouldn’t be enough. I tried to see if I could find a way to meet him. I messaged some friends in the radio industry and Big Daddy J was able to deliver. Big time. You da man Dennis!
I know it sounds gay and all but I was really star struck. Hahahaha. I shook his hand and told him that I proposed to Mich with Falling Slowly and he was all smiles. Wished him luck for his concert on Saturday and told him that we were watching. What really got my attention though was his parting words. Never expected such a huge pop star to say “God Bless”. I suddenly remembered he was also a Christian.
Anyway, thank you Dennis for making this happen. Kris Allen is one of my personal favorite artists and it meant a lot for me and Mich.
This is a brand new section for our blog. Mich and I usually go one dates at least once a week. Since she loves taking photos and I love blogging, might as well post them here. This one was a bit far back already (a few weeks ago). We had a double date with our college friend, Angie. I used to call her “Sampaguita Girl” in college because she looked so innocent and was kinda naive. Or at least I thought she was. Hahaha!
We all decided to eat out at Mr. Kurosawa in Eastwood Mall. It’s a european take on Japanese cuisine. From what I heard, this was also owned by Marvin Agustin. Yeah, the same guy behind Sumo Sam in Shangrila. I ordered a Seafood and Chicken Teriyaki Paella which was supposedly one of their specialties. Everyone else ordered standard fare. All in all the food was okay but I wasn’t really that impressed with the Paella. Tasted like Chicken Teriyaki with Java Rice. Not worth the price tag.
Anyway, one of the good things with meeting up with college buds is that you get to look back and reminisce at how you guys were during the “earlier years”. Most of you probably don’t know this but Angie was one the first people I actually opened up to when it came to me wanting to court Mich. That was waaaaaay back in 1st year college, year 2001! 9 years. Wow. Time flies by really fast.
Next week Mich and I will be having our date on Feb 6. We’ll be watching the Kris Allen concert at the Fort. We’re both big fans and we’re really looking forward to the event. This will actually be our first concert experience together! Wooo. Hahaha! ‘Till the next post!
